This project is situated in the centre of the city of Lecce in south of Italy, the existing building is a former school situated next to the main street. Since the building couldn’t be modified in extensive way, the new elements could me introduced without damaging the old structure. The inspiration for the concept was a famous local stone that is infiltrated by the water. This simple idea helped to adapt the existing classical building to a new function by introducing strong architectural elements symbolising a flowing water as new communication paths and staircases.
